This course duration is 4 months - 16 sessions. We will meet in person once every week for 2 hours at your studio or home studio.

1. COURSE DESCRIPTION

​

This course will put you on truck to start your journey as an Artist. 

​

We will work on activating your creativity so you will be able to create artworks from A to Z by yourself. You will start sketching from reality and your imagination. You will also learn how to look at colors and how to interact with them, in order to color your sketches and create your own paintings.

You will learn how to express your artistic ideas with color and words, in order to communicate them to others. 

You will set your goals by creating your own working calendar and follow through every day to reach your artistic goals.

2. ENVISIONED LEARNING OUTCOMES

​

• Students will learn various techniques of sketching, perspective and coloring. 

• Students will demonstrate critical analytical skills and reflect upon shapes, forms and colors. 

• Students will demonstrate how to understand, appreciate and interpret an artwork and how to create a new one from scratch.

• Students will be able to write their own statement and artwork description. 

• Students will be skilled with various techniques that will allow them to open their art studio and work on their own.

3. BRIEF COURSE SCHEDULE

​

• On the first 6 weeks we will work on various art techniques and ways to express your originality and find your own technique. 

​

• In the second section of the course we will work on creating one original artwork from A to Z every week. This means, each student will create 10 artworks and 10 descriptions. You will write your own artist statement for your first collection.

 At the end of this course, you will have accomplished:

 a- Knowing how to organize your studio, and how to deal with light, furniture, art materials, and supplies. 

 b- Learned various ways of sketching, perspective, color mixing, and applying color.

 c- Learned how to describe and write a description of your artwork.

 d- Learned how to write your artist statement. 

 e- Create 10 artworks ready to be hanged on a gallery and to be sold.

 f-  Print a small book to show off your first collection.
