It was a wonderful day under Miami's sun, everything was shiny and alive. I was thinking, dreaming and seeing for a long time, these majestic holy faces meditating, communicating from an unknown spiritual world inviting me to their  world to see their ways and the things that they use.  I want to share my secret and mysterious  experiences with everybody. Obviously, Art is the only way to share these feeling as realistic as possible.

I went to my studio storage area and started looking around to see if something has meaning for my new inspiration. There were boxes, paintings, sculptures and  lots of stuff  but, what caught my attention were several big boxes of promotional postcards that were not being used any more.
 
My first thought was “Paper is a big part of my life." Expressing myself with drawings on paper is a wonderful experience and to make 3D realistic scenes takes skills and I have already done it. But, what if this world that I am seeing is trapped inside these postcards and they want me to release them from my mind and make them a reality.

I said “My challenge is to make something with these postcards and to take paper and art to the next level." In the back of my mind I always work hard to recycle materials so this is my big opportunity to make the world a better place for generations to come.

My first attempt was to join these postcards and press them together. They ware surprisingly strong and hard as a chunk of wood “Paper made from wood! Why not treat them as one."

I grabbed my carving tools and the piece started to speak to me. This is how my first piece was born.
