Byzantine Icon Painting Workshop | At St. Nicholas Church

Dates: 4 Fridays Workshop| October 7th, 14th, 21st, & 28th, 2016
Location: Saint Nicholas Melkite Catholic Church - 5715 Lake Ida Rd, Delray Beach, FL 33484
Description: Join us with Master Iconographer Chady Elias to learn the meaning and creation of Byzantine Iconography through practice, theory, and theological discussion. Each participant will write / paint a complete Icon to take home at the end of this workshop. In this workshop we are going to write / paint the "Holy Face Icon" (see picture) . Also we are going to explore this Icon's History, Spirituality, and Theology.

Technique: Smalti Italian Mosaic
Dates: 1 Day Workshop|Saturday November 19th, 2016
Location: Saint Nicholas Melkite Catholic Church - 5715 Lake Ida Rd, Delray Beach, FL 33484
Description: Join us with Master Iconographer Artist Chady Elias to learn the meaning and creation of Italian Smalti Mosaic. Each participant will create a complete Mosaic (see picture) to take home at the end of this one day workshop. No artistic skills are needed to attend this workshop. In this workshop, each participant will create the "Fish and Cross" Christian symbol mosaic artwork.
